The lovely season of Autumn returns, bringing with it the annual celebration of World Mission Sunday.

In September 2019, a small group of parishioners at St. Ignatius of Loyola in Spring formed a group for people of faith who wanted to talk about race without fear or judgment. To guide their discussions, they studied the USCCB’s pastoral letter on racism, “Open Wide Our Hearts.”

The Gospels highlight many profound and personal encounters with people ensconced in what we call dysfunctional situations.

Like Joseph and Mary, we are all called to protect the lives of others and to defend them against evil and destruction. We are called to help our fellow sisters and brothers whom we live among.
