The Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will host a Mass at 9 a.m. on Dec. 6 to commemorate the anniversary of the Virgin Mary’s appearance to a humble peasant, St. Juan Diego, in 1531 on the hills of Tepeyac in México.
Archbishop Joe A. Vásquez and Bishop Italo Dell’Oro will be the celebrants of the Mass. There will be a procession before the Mass starting at 7:30 a.m. in the corners of Walker, Caroline and Austin St., and a celebration will follow. Serenate, reenactment of the apparition and traditional dances will take place at the Joseph A. Fiorenza Plaza at 11 a.m. The Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is located at 1111 St. Joseph Pkwy.
