During the Second Vatican Council,
one “constitution” that emerged was Lumen Gentium – translated to English meaning “Christ is the Light of nations”. In simple terms defined as an eager desire to bring the light of Christ to all people through the “communion” of the church body.
Churches grow in holiness
when parishioners are encouraged to walk in the reflection of Christ’s light. However, encouragement is different from engagement. By taking intentional steps toward planning the future for your parish, you will transform your parishioners from “members” of your church to “contributors”.
Creating a Parish Pastoral Plan
is not about reworking things or repeating things. With the help of vast archdiocesan resources, your council can create a plan that engages parishioners, builds a passionate, faith-filled community through a stronger sense of belonging and helps them in doing their part in the creation the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.
