The first level of formation for catechetical leaders:INTRODUCTION TO PROFESSIONAL CATECHETICAL MINISTRY
This program is a series of on-demand training for those who are in a position of leadership in a catechetical ministry at a parish or are in process of becoming a catechetical leader:
- Directors or Coordinators of Faith Formation (also called CCE, CCD, and Catechism).
- Directors or Coordinators of Sacramental Preparation (Baptism, 1st Reconciliation/Communion, Confirmation of adults, O.C.I.A.)
- Coordinators of Adult Formation, Coordinators of Catechists, Coordinators of Hispanic Ministry, etc.
I.P.C.M. is offered as on-demand trainings to allow Pastors and new PCL's the opportunity to begin training at any point during the year.
Each training offers the participant an overview of the best practices for 8 different key areas in catechetical ministry: (Take one or take all)- Recruitment, training, and accompaniment of catechists.
- What every catechetical leader should know about the NEW CAPERNAUM.
- How to form a Sacramental Preparation Team.
- The catechumenate and O.C.I.A.
- Catechesis to persons with disabilities.
- What to consider before planning the next catechetical year.
- First steps towards adopting and implementing the Archdiocesan Curriculum.
- HYBRID faith formation and other models of catechesis.
The Office of Evangelization and Catechesis is ready to supplement the on-demand session with one-on-one mentoring and accompaniment.

Due to the transition to a new Capernaum platform, the I.P.C.M. on-demand trainings are offered as recordings. Below you will find the recordings together with summary report form that will inform the O.E.C. that a session has been watched and completed for the purpose of offering follow up assistance to learners.
