Located approximately one hour north of Houston in Plantersville, TX (Grimes County), Camp Kappe serves as a center for youth retreats, youth camping, and spiritual growth programs, providing parishes and schools of Galveston-Houston with their own retreat facility rather than relying on facilities of other denominations or secular organizations.
The facility is named in memory of Fr. T. W. Kappe, a priest who dedicated much of his ministerial work to the young people of the diocese for more than 20 years.

Sleeping Cabins
- St. John Bosco Cabin: 4 rooms (Sleeps 8 in each room) for a total of 32 beds
- St. Maria Goretti Cabin: 4 rooms (Sleeps 8 in each room) for a total of 32 beds
- St. Pedro Calungsod Cabin: 2 rooms with separate entrances (with Bathroom... Sleeps 32 in each) for a total of 64 beds.
- St. Therese de Lisieux Cabin: 3 rooms (Two rooms sleeping 8 in each room and one single room with a bathroom that sleeps 3 leaders for a total of 19 beds
Additional Information Rooms- Guest House: 3 rooms for use by visiting priests or religious leaders during retreats or for the retreat team, if available.

Reservations and InquriesIf you are seeking to check the availability of a weekend for your retreat, please email us at [email protected] with your dates and we can review the schedule to see what we can accommodate and pencil into the calendar.
Feel free to review the reservation documents below to help clarify the process of securing accommodations for events at the retreat center. Once dates have been penciled in, these documents will need to be reviewed and turned in as part of confirming your dates. Without these completed documents and a deposit, dates are not confirmed on the calendar.

The School of Environmental Education (S.E.E.)
The School of Environmental Education (S.E.E.) is a program of the Camp Kappe Youth Retreat Facility and is an accredited school offering a supplemental education program to the parochial schools of the area.
S.E.E. provides 5th grade students in our Catholic schools a four-day outdoor experience of God's gift of nature while studying life cycles, food chains, the environment's effect on man, man's effect on the environment, conservation of resources, etc. It offers hands-on experience with farm animals and gardening along with many other exciting adventures in outdoor education.

Yes! Typically, appointments for tours are set for Tuesdays during the week but weekend dates can also be arranged depending on availability.

Camp Kappe and the SEE are primarily designated as youth retreat locations, meaning that it is not designed to host retreats for adults or families.
We invite you to explore one of our other retreat centers as a possible option for your event/retreat.
