The palpable tension, occasionally manifested within our country, calls for builders of peace to act.
The USCCB President, Archbishop Paul Coakley, invited bishops and priests across the United States to offer a Holy Hour for Peace in the days ahead.
In union with this call, Archbishop Joe Vásquez will soon participate in a Holy Hour at St. Mary’s Seminary. He asks that the same be done soon in our parishes and religious communities. This can be accomplished by utilizing a regularly scheduled Holy Hour or by organizing a new one.
To facilitate this prayer, the Office of Worship has prepared a liturgical text drafted by the USCCB in various languages. The following Holy Hour is a model and is based on the ritual book Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharistic Mystery outside Mass, which should be followed in all respects.
