The Office of Young Adult and Campus Ministry began its annual Café Catholica summer series open to all young adults (ages 18-39). More than 800 young adults throughout the Houston area attend each session, which are held in person at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and feature dynamic speakers, prayer, and socializing.
Tonight’s July 21st Café Catholica will include a special blessing during Mass from Bishop Italo Dell’Oro, CRS for any pilgrim who will be traveling to Rome, Italy during the 2025 Jubilee Year. A group of 70 young adults from the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will be participating in the Jubilee for Youth and Young People on July 28 through August 3 in Rome. This pilgrimage will offer young adults a unique experience to explore the rich history of the Rome, participate in a U.S. National Pilgrim Gathering, and attend a papal Mass with Pope Leo XIV.
In 2024, Pope Francis designated 2025 as a Jubilee Year, with the theme, “Pilgrims of Hope” based on the Scripture passage, “Hope does not disappoint” (Romans 5:5). There will be many more Jubilee celebrations held in Rome until the end of the year. All pilgrims who travel to Rome will be able to enter through the Holy Doors at the four Papal Basilicas in Rome to receive an indulgence during the Jubilee Year.
