Laudato Si’ Trees/World Youth Day Global Tree Planting: November 14
Catholic young adults are invited to participate in Laudato Si’ Trees on Saturday, November 14, at the Villa de Matel from 8:30 am-12:00 pm. This will be a morning of prayer, fellowship, and tree planting inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’.

Together, we'll plant 160 trees to help renew the Villa de Matel grounds, replacing trees that have recently died. This event joins the international campaign for World Youth Day in Seoul 2027 that is planting trees to help offsetcarbon emissions associated with more than a million pilgrims traveling to Seoul for next year’s event.

No tree-planting experience is necessary! All tools, fertilizer, and mulch will be provided. Extra trees may also be available for participants to take home or plant at their parish or school. Please join us on Saturday, November 14, at the Villa De Matel (6510 Lawndale St, Houston) from 8:30 am to noon. Lunch is provided. No cost to attend.
