Archbishop Vásquez to celebrate Mass for Pope Leo XIV on May 12

The Archdiocese will host a Mass to celebrate the election of Pope Leo XIV at 12:10 p.m. on Monday, May 12 at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Houston. Archbishop Joe S. Vásquez will be the Mass celebrant. Auxiliary Bishop Italo Dell'Oro, CRS, will concelebrate.

“I ask the faithful of our Archdiocese and all people of goodwill to pray for Pope Leo XIV, that he may be a joyful servant of the Gospel and have the compassionate heart of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ,” Archbishop Vásquez of Galveston-Houston said.

The Mass will be livestreamed at www.archgh.org/live.
