Cynthia Colbert, CEO of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, has announced her retirement. She has graciously offered to remain in her role until a successor is selected and begins.
Cynthia has faithfully served as CEO since 2012. She worked tirelessly alongside Cardinal DiNardo through some of the most challenging times in recent memory—Hurricane Harvey, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a recent reduction in federal funding. Amid these difficulties, she remained steadfast in advancing the mission of Catholic Charities, ensuring that the love of Christ continued to reach our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.
I am deeply grateful for Cynthia’s dedication and leadership. Her commitment to a smooth transition ensures that the important work of Catholic Charities will continue for years to come.
